Bridging the Kane County Court System to the Community Video Series

​The Kane County Court System has completed a friendly, easy-to-watch video series made with local partner, It's Me, Marketing, in response to Illinois Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Rochford’s Bridging the Courthouse to the Community initiative. Justice Rochford appears in the introduction video, The Role of the Kane County Court System, along with 16th Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Robert Villa to kick off this effort to make the Kane County Court System easier to understand and use in the series. The Role of the Kane County Court System and What to Do If Your Child Gets a Ticket​ are now live on the Kane County Government's YouTube Channel with more topics soon to come including getting married at a Kane County Courthouse, what to expect when you are going to court, and serving as a juror.

  • The Role of the Kane County Court System where Justice Elizabeth Rochford and Chief Judge Robert Villa give a short welcome that sets the tone for bridging courthouses and communities. as well as an overview of the court system.
  • What to Do If Your Child Gets a Ticket
    • A step-by-step informational guidance for parents on how to find the court date, what to expect after receiving a ticket, and how to prepare your child for court. 
What to Expect
  • Short, friendly, approachable, and clear messaging.
  • Real judges, clerks, and community members explain processes in everyday language.
  • Simple on-screen steps and footage of real courthouse spaces (clerk counters, kiosks, lobbies) so viewers know what to expect when they conduct court business. 
Where to Watch and Share
The videos are hosted on the 16th Judicial Circuit’s YouTube Channel link and will be shared on the court’s website, social channels, and with local partners. Please share links with family, schools, churches, and community groups.
